Reverse Applique using Jersey Knits

When you think of the word upcycle what comes to mind?

The word upcycle, also known as creative reuse, is the process of transforming unwanted products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value.

We are all so familiar with using t-shirts and creating beautiful T-shirt quilts!
Have you made a number of them and are ready for something new?

Are you familiar with Alabama Chanin and her beautiful intensive handwork and design using Jersey knit fabric?  If not below are just of few of her gorgeous pieces made with 100% organic knit. Many of these garments sell for thousands of dollars.
You can create pieces just like these!

Terri Click takes inspiration from Alabama Chanin's work by creating items using a sewing machine, embroidery machine, and a bit of handwork.

Join Terri for a one day workshop and trunk show learning reverse applique and how to work with knits using your sewing machines, sergers, and embroidery machines.
However, an embroidery machine is not required and the designs can be manually stitched with the same effect.

Along with being a great teacher, Terri is also a great entertainer.
Listen to her stories and be inspired while learning how to upcycle, reuse and repurpose knits you have around the house or new knits you love.

During the workshop, you will create an 18"/20" square to use as pillow front, jacket back, shirt front or maybe a center block for one of those t-shirt quilts, whatever you may choose.

You will learn many different techniques using your sewing machine along with handwork including how to create the beautiful edging around this pillow.

Terri will have several patterns and designs for you to choose from.
Here are a few others.

Along with the workshop, Terri will bring a large trunk show of many other items she has upcycled. Below are just a few of what she will bring with to show and talk about.

Sew much inspiration!!!!
