Meet your instructors:

Judy Fenton - owner of Millcreek Sewing & Fabric for 29 years and Needle in a Haystack Quilting Retreat. I have been teaching quilting across the US and on cruises for over 25 years, as education is my passion. As the coordinator of regional events like Quilting Around Chautauqua, Quilting on the Bayfront, and Learning on the Lake, I ensure all our programs are fun, creative and filled with learning opportunities.

I love creative quilting projects and operate by the motto: "Sometimes, a pattern is just a mere suggestion." Collage quilting offers this creative freedom.
I have been working with my dear friend, Zelma Reid, who is a Certified Laura Heine Collage Instructor, to offer collage instruction. We recently completed the advanced certification class with Laura Heine on "Collage with Inktense Pencils" and are now both accredited
Advanced Laura Heine Collage Certified Instructors.
We look forward to sharing our expertise with you.

Zelma Reid- I began my sewing career teaching Heirloom Sewing  after years of study at The Martha Pullen School of Art Fashion in Huntsville, Alabama.

I was an Educator with  Husqvarna Viking White Sewing Machine Company and then opened my own VWS Dealership and Fabric Shop in Texas.  I am a Martha Pullen Licensed Teacher specializing in Christening Gowns and Children’s Clothing Construction.   Most recently in my career, I became a Certified Laura Heine Collage Quilting Instructor. I taught at Missouri Star Quilt Retreats, Hamilton, MO., Stitchin’ at the Beach, Myrtle Beach, SC., “Gone Stitchin’ with JKM in Maine”, Quilt Guilds, and Private Retreats.

I  have been published in  Coastal Magazine Texas, and Classic Sewing Magazine.  I  teach classes in heirloom sewing, quilting, adult and children garment sewing,  and collage quilting,  home dec, machine embroidery, and more. Other than a passion for sewing and teaching, my most enjoyable pastimes are travel, meeting new people and sharing my love of sewing.
